We certainly do not recommend entertainment insurance for the bulk of your insurance needs. If you need life insurance, then go ahead and take out a life insurance policy. But just in case you want to produce a film or want to organize a concert, we do recommend that you get at least one entertainment insurance program from FilmIns.
We’ve worked with this company on several movie projects. While FilmIns provided the main entertainment insurance program, we supplemented by insuring the aircrafts being used in the film productions.
Entertainment insurance differs greatly from aircraft insurance in terms of scope of coverage. In insurance parlance, aircraft insurance is what is called a floater –or a type of insurance program that is specific only to an object.
It works pretty much like jewelry insurance or auto insurance. Aircraft owners take out an aircraft insurance policy to protect their investment. In case it is stolen or damaged, an aircraft owner does not have to worry about recovering the money lost. Entertainment insurance, meanwhile, is broader in scope. You can say that entertainment insurance is a series of floaters that is woven into a cohesive whole called all-risk insurance.
FilmIns has different entertainment insurance programs according to the type of entertainment program. As such, it has insurance programs that are specific to film productions, concerts and special events, and sporting events. FilmIns also has special types of protection programs that supplement its all-risk entertainment insurance programs. They include:
- Protection programs for expensive jewelry and artwork
- Equipment floaters
- Weather insurance protection
- Producer’s Errors & Omissions
- Key artist protection
- Venue protection program
We recommend FilmIns based on the feedback of our film producer clients. According to them, the company is notably cheaper than other providers of entertainment insurance. This invariably allows them to dedicate more of their budgets to the completion of their projects.
